Here's this week's Collective Worship theme. We are exploring how a quiet moment can help us recognise our emotions and understand what is happening in our hearts. When we are still, we can think more clearly, notice our feelings, and become more aware of the people and world around us. We can also become more aware of God's loving presence with us. The children will be encouraged to see that rest is not only important for our bodies but also for our minds and spirits. In a busy and noisy world, taking time to pause, breathe, reflect, and pray can bring a sense of peace and wellbeing. Through this worship, we are reminded that God invites each of us to stop, take a breath, and remember a very important truth: We are loved. "On the seventh day God rested from all his work." In Science, Year One are learning all about the weather and the different seasons we experience in the UK. Today, we focused on clouds and used our scientific observation skills to look closely at what we could see in the sky. We noticed that clouds come in different shapes, sizes and colours, and we observed how they move across the sky. Next week we will be thinking carefully about rain and wind! In RE, Year 1 have been learning about the different groups we belong to. We explored how we are all part of the wider Manor Park family, as well as our own Willow/Aspen Class family. We used string to connect ourselves together, helping us to see that although we are all individuals, we are also connected to one another.
